Demanding uninstallers would cripple the amount of hacks out there.
If you were to apply this rule to all current hacks, how many would then be availible on vb.org? 10-20? How many perfectly good hacks would disapear as the author simply cant be asked to spend the time coding an uninstall script that 99.999% of the time will never be used? I created install/uninstall scripts for my 3 hacks and it took more time doing those than the hacks themselves (and the second and third scripts were cut and paste!). Even after all of that... the user STILL has to go through for file edits. I really feel for you is you got a bum script... there is no excuse for that however the hack I think you are talking about does not have the 'support' option ticked. I would advise against installing anything where the author did not support it if you are not 100% comfotable with taking it onboard all yourself. Good luck |
