Way to make a completely un-needed comment.

Not that it's any of your business, but I have run a few message boards throughout the years. Really, if you can't take constructive criticism without making childish remarks, then don't post your forum for us to review.

Grover there did the same thing at my site, at first asking, then demanding to be made a admin or moderator. Although he posted his age at my forum as 17... and looking around at a few other sites he's registered at, it varies from 15 to 18. When he was finally told that I had enough staff, and didn't need him for that he became extremely abusive. I wound up having to ban his IP address from cPanel, besides banning him all the other ways. Took me like 30 minutes to track down every little piece of spam he hit my boards with :ermm:

Disagree with me if you will, but the more unique your forum is, the more members you will get. That's just the way it is.. it's easier for the member to remember your site too, if it stands out to them.

But dude, it's your site.. and you do seem to be running a decently successful forum there. I just thought I'd mention that. (Like I said in my first post, you don't HAVE to change them..)
They have been modified, they have been correctly matted to the background.

I have 12 styles on my board, all using matching colours of the default vB buttons, i think they look fine.

As to the original poster, your board looks smart and clean and doesn't have one of those stupid 'power styles' where everything looks completely different and you then can't see anything or find your way around. There's a lot to be said for styles that are basically just diffrent colours of the standard layout, that's all my board has, that's all many people want.

well, for anyone who wishes to just avoid him altogether, here are the IP's i have to identify him with - unfortunately, I think his IP's are dynamic - so these might not do much good: 63.186.9.151 & 63.190.112.108 his emails are bball_champ2010@msn.com, baseballstud_24010@hotmail.com, ricknov57@yahoo.com - he goes by blade or dustyn. it looks like his post was removed - too bad, i bet there was more info in there that would've helped keep him away.

uhhh, it looks like your site has the default color scheme with a little orange mixed in. are you related to spamgrover? i was hoping to hear back from HiDeo about why i need to modify my images - am i using some without permission or something?

thanks for taking note - until i discovered those adobe macros, matting all those graphics with #220000 was a real pain in the arse. I also have to give some credit to whoever runs the inferno, as some of those buttons originate there (i believe.) there's just not any black background themes out there, at least not any of seen (with the exception of one) that are truly black and don't have a bunch of extra flashy stuff to go with. is there anyone else out there with a black or dark theme that focuses more on the color scheme, instead of completely revamping the whole look of the board?

yes, finally! thank you - i totally agree - i really like the new vB buttons and the simple style/navigation it provides. heading to a forum and having to download flash, maybe grab some quicktime, a couple of activex controls, some crap whizzing by in my status bar -those things i can do without. when it comes to this forum thing, it seems like there might be too many chiefs and not enough indians. while i think the style is important, what good is it when you've nothing to offer in your forum? or you're so wanting to be in control of something that you chase everyone off being a super-duper-moderator?

what is that running your index.php? i've always wanted to front-end my forum... what's the best recommended?

hey your forum is great, too. so many styles. i really wanted to create a couple of styles with a lighter background, but my avatars! man, do avatars look bad on an inverted matte. i think there's a lack of understanding in how challenge it is in creating a darker style and making it look good - most of the negative feedback i'm getting is in how much time i didn't spend in creating entirely new buttons. but each to his own - i'm happy with it.

thanks, everyone, for your input.
