Well, I used to have this problem a lot, too. There is a thing in your PHP configs that is called magic_quotes. Even thogh there is code in the vB to turn them off, it doesn't really turn it all off. You have to change that in your PHP config file, or ask your host to turn them off if you don't have access to them.
