Installing Security Patch
This may sound bit silly!
But being new to vBulletin i don't know to install the security patches! Where should i upload and replace the files? CPanel? If so where are the files? I use vB 4.1.7 |

In your case it would be better to do a full upgrade to the latest version. To upload the files you can use a ftp client or you can also upload them through the File Manager section in the cp of your host, providing it has one.
Do not forget to make a backup of your database before you upgrade your forum. For just in case things don''t go as planned you can always roll back. |

There is no need for that. You should upload them inside the folder that holds your vb forum files maintaining the structure intact. i.e. overwrite your forum files.

https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/show...your-4-0-Forum Its very easy after following directions in this thread. Always make backup before you run upgrade. |

If you have installed vb in some folder, say for example, www.yoursite.com/forum then the vb files are inside the /forum/ folder in your server space. Hope it helps. |
