The script is w/e page is being accessed and the link in () changes for '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock'.

Contact you host and ask them to fix (restart might be enough) mySQL

Do you know what is causing this so I can give them some kind of information as to what is wrong.

Mysql has broken, it's a server issue that could have many causes, there is no way for you to tell.

Site5 seems to think that there are no problems with mysql and they mentioned something about this being remedied quickly on the node... w/e that means.

I am contacting them, once again, to get this situation resolved as I do think it's on their end. Unluckly, it usually seems I have to tell them twice or even 3 times that there is a problem before they actually look into it.

Yea, I use to use my own server when I ran a hosting company, but switched away when I sold it. Now I have to deal with convincing site5 (in all my support tickets) that they no to listen to me... lol

I'm seriously thinking to switching to a low cost ded from servermatrix or ev1.

Personally I would keep well away from ev1.
