Any good way to get Members?

If you're really serious about building your member base, advertise, if you have the budget. Pick a large site that deals with the subject matter of your particular forum. We advertise on TechTracker/ VersionTracker. It does well.

Well theres this Music Show, that Allows you to type in Dedications, So i figured i could Just make a Dedication but make it Look like i wasnt Advertising Like

"This song is dedicated to some one from "Blah blah.com" and poeple would Be watching and go to my site"

BUT my site is for Hip hop, and this Tv Show "Dedicate Live" Plays Alot of Pop and Rock. so it wouldnt get the members needed for my board.

Theres this one Website, Traffic Storm or something, i tried it and it didnt work.

No offense but there are practically billions of sites about *shudder* hip hop. Being the only site of your kind will be the best thing you can do to get new members. Because there's no competition.

Well my site Involves Hip hop but its Not the Main Concept, basically My site is a Emcee site where emcees hang out, you do Know what a Emcee is right?

Exactly, don't create a hip hop forum. You won't get anywhere because there are so many. You need to be more unique.

And yes, Emcee is in most of the hip hop forums. So don't count on that getting you members either.

Sorry, but to be honest, there are way too many rap/hip-hop/emcee boards on the net as is, adding another does not help in my opinion. Sorry to be blunt about it, but originality is always a key factor when getting members, those type of boards are far from original and new ones seem to be popping up daily, if not more.

Indeed, what you could do is do a whole music forum like KSF and centre it around all types of music and not just hip-hop.

Yeah, but what IF i like emceeing? thats Just me...I dont like any Music Except Hip Hop..And thats what Kind of site i want to have...Some of the poeple ive seen Here Post Dont Like hip hop Because they dont know what hip hop is...they think seeing nelly on tv yelling about sex and drugs is hip hop...but its not... its just mainstream..the hip hop i like is a way of life..with good lyrics..do any of you even rakim or mos def? probally not cause you hardly see them on tv they dont need to sell out to the masses to make money...Lets not forget my sites Not only a forum...its just a site to get the latest hip hop News and For emcees to Have Fun...Its like a teacher Whos dedicated to teaching and wants to start a "Site" about teaching...you think she/he will have a forum for emceeing? nope...thats the Whole point of my site...My site does Look Original and has Original Content and Reviews...I just need a way to get members...Cause i know you just cant Open a site and members will come it dont work Like that..alls i asked was a simple question...not to argue with Anyone... i could care less how many Hip hop sites there are..and my site has games and Give aways Of some what...and i know I dont want my site to be like the rest...so i got the look its original the content is pretty much original...and im stilll thinking of something that will seperate my site from the rest...but still be a hip hop site...so please bare with me...cant we all just agree?..

lol can't say that having a Final Fantasy or Anime board is being very original either, i'd say theres more anime boards then emcee and hiphop boards
