I've never seen a tutorial. You just select the template to Edit and hit View History and then Compare to compare your template to the Jelsoft one. I like to them hit the Side by Side button on the bottom to see them compared side by side. Then I copy anything I need and paste it back into the template. It's really not that hard - just try it.

I've familiarised myself with the not side-by-side version now. It works well once you get used to it.

I would suggest the opposite:

Go through the templates and (copy the current contents first) revert and re-add the modification changes. If you add the Jelsoft 3.8 changes to your template, it wil be marked as needing a revert again the next update, even if nothing has changed. If you revert and re-add the modification code, it will be seen as an up2date template, and unless the next upgrade changes the same template, it will not be marked as needing attention.

Actually, that is what I usually do (but not all the time). I select my template to edit, hit view history > compare, then in the other window I revert my template and go add in my changes from the Compare screen. I didn't know about the whole up2date thing though but will now make sure I always do the revert first.

When you hit View History > Compare, it should open the page up in a new window. You should be able to Copy any thing you need from the Compare page, and then go back to the template and Paste it in.
