Are you saying that my assertion that change at the .org takes time is hilarious? Or that some new staff members seem to have reversed their public opinions on certain issues (not just this one) after becoming staff is hilarious? BTW: That's not a criticism. Becoming staff usually does change some of what people think or at least how they present it, for many reason. Is my contention that older staff have set beliefs on things like the install button and coding for profit hilariously off the mark? Are you really going to make me search and quote Danny, Princeton, And Zach 1 & 2? Yes, some of the big holdouts have moved on now, like Edwin (again, not a criticism, just a statement of fact about how some people felt on some topics). But, to say that older staff with entrenched views doesn't exist seem spurious to me. I think some people might be seeing this as argumentative or critical, but it's not meant to be. What I'm saying is that change takes time, especially on big boards, and that change usually comes with staff shakeups. We only have to go back a few months to Marco's stepping in to see evidence of that. Almost all boards work this way. So my point was to try and not get frustrated (specifically addressing Dreams comment of "Ok, I won't be giving you feedback anymore") and if you feel strongly about an issue just keep bringing it up for debate now and again. |

More changes will happen over the next 6/12 months as well, but the current install system is not part of them (apart from the addition mentioned in another thread somewhere). As for change being slow - yes it is, of course it is - because as I already said, and has been repeated many times in the past, everything is done by us in our own (unpaid) time - and I personally have 40 or so modifications to support as well (again in my own, unpaid time). |

I do not see why this has turned into an argument?
Paul is being honest, at this current moment we do not have any plans to change the system. Saying the staff is entrenched in our own ideas, I feel, is a blind attack. We are progressing. Things take time. We are all volunteers here. |

In regards to people working on projects as a community, that is not a viable option. It would take an even more amount of time in validating and authenticating the code that gets uploaded to this server. It would require to moderate for both unintentional and intentional exploits and inefficient code that could harm the website. We are not asking your code, just your patience. |

If everyone will recall this line from "My Humps" From Fergie (A song)
She simply states" No no, drama, i dont want no drama" SAME GOES HERE. |

About the staff being volunteers, this would only take phrase changes from Install to Subscriptions, nothing more would need to be done. I posted this suggestion to be discussed by the community, not to "moan". Is that how you view all users here, people that "moan"? Or just me? This tells a lot of a community, for me at least. |
