Member Limit To The Number of Threads Started in an Hour
A member on my forums made a suggestion to me as a result of a spammer coming on my forums and creating like 20+ topics in less than an hour.
The suggestion was basically that your average member is almost never going to start more than 3 threads in the space of an hour - and for the large part that is very true. I mean even I myself as an admin of my forums have only start 270 in total and the forums have been running for over 1000 days. So I was looking for a mod that would cap the number of threads that a member could start and I could find one so I figured I'd just put it out there to see if anyone else though the same way or felt that this sort of mod would be a good idea. |

I am also looking forward for such kind of a mod with infact one more feature.....
The mod should be able limit the number of threads that a user opens in a forum for a given interval of time, which may be per hour or even per day. Just found two such mods... Maximum New Threads/Replies Per X hours Per Usergroup & Forum Throttle Posts/Threads (restrict number of posts/threads per 24 hour period) However the first one seems to be UnSupported now, and the second one doesnt have the feature of having such limit on a per forum basis. Would appreciate if someone could script out such mod |
