Disabling that one little area is not going to make much difference at all. I'd be surprised if you even notice any difference. Why don't you try looking at your modifications and see about eliminating any you don't need and/or any that add queries to pages.

As Lynne has said, slim down to modifications you need (as opposed to wants). However, disabling that section can bring improvement, the query used is actually quite consuming.
