Is there a list of fields available from or through the stock "external.php" -- and if so, please; where is it?
Thanks very much. |

[Google] Definitions of database fields on the Web:
Fields are placeholders for discrete bits of information in a database. For example, your last name would be typed into a field for that purpose. The grouped contents of several fields together form a record. Mindwrap Infoblurbs [www.mindwrap.com/infoblurbs/infoblurbs.html] I'm asking if there is a list of the discrete units of information from the vb database that are available through the default distribution of "external.php". Thanks. |

Is it required of the vB licensee that they read through the sparsely commented php code to figure out what elements of or about a post may be available? Thanks again. |

I haven't played around much with the External Data Provider, I simply query for them directly, it's much simpler and more flexible.

This is, after all, the (again, nominally) official support for RSS feeds and that's an important part of keeping members interested and involved. It would be great to know exactly what it can do -- and why, for example, the JS component supplies less than the RSS. Thanks. |
