On my board, we have some users playing a D&D game in a specific forum setup for that purpose. I was wondering if it might be possible to set the forum up in such a way so that when specified users posted in that forum, it would show them as a different "account" or alter-ego of their choosing with a different avatar than their standard one as well.
I know this can be done by just having them register with that username and set their access to only be able to post in that forum....but I don't really want to have to do that.
I hope I made some sense...if not, let me know and I'll try to explain it better.

It can be done with <if> statements and custom profile fields. I can show you but I cannot right now since I'm at work and don't have the resources on me to show you how.
this can be done easily, yes... add a new field in the profile, so users enter their Alias, and in the forum settings, change to display that Alias when set... this can be done in 5 minutes...

where would you set it to display in the forum settings? I'm wanting this to replace their username and avatar in this specific forum.
anyone else have any ideas....or willing to help me out....unfortunately, I (and the rest of our admin team) don't really have a ton of extra cash laying around to put into our forum, so paying for a hack unfortunately isn't quite feasable at the moment.
