Alternate account for specific forums
On my board, we have some users playing a D&D game in a specific forum setup for that purpose. I was wondering if it might be possible to set the forum up in such a way so that when specified users posted in that forum, it would show them as a different "account" or alter-ego of their choosing with a different avatar than their standard one as well.
I know this can be done by just having them register with that username and set their access to only be able to post in that forum....but I don't really want to have to do that. I hope I made some sense...if not, let me know and I'll try to explain it better. |

this can be done easily, yes... add a new field in the profile, so users enter their Alias, and in the forum settings, change to display that Alias when set... this can be done in 5 minutes...

Any chance of a step by step guide. If you have the time ? I would like to use it but have very limited programming knowledge.

anyone else have any ideas....or willing to help me out....unfortunately, I (and the rest of our admin team) don't really have a ton of extra cash laying around to put into our forum, so paying for a hack unfortunately isn't quite feasable at the moment.

gonna bump this up and see if anyone else has ideas
