I was wondering if this was possible with VBulletin. The way I have my site setup now is, everything is proprietary for how the news and comments work. The thing is, my forum has really started to take off, and a lot of people want to be able to talk about news, and have it cross post on the forums as well as the front page. I like this idea, but I don't want to have to re-engineer the entire site.
The ideal situation would be that I could just pull the news and comments from a DB, and display the text in the format I currently have it. I don't think that's necessarily possible, though, unless there's a way to select the most recent threads in order from a forum, and then break down each thread into posts, display the first post as the news post, and the replies as comments. That would be easiest, and a dream come true if possible. Aside from that, I'm stumped, so if anyone else can lend a hand I'd really appreciate it. My site is http://www.playitreviewit.com if you want to take a look, and the forums are at /forums. Thanks |
