What kind of phone os do you have? Android, Iphone, Windows?

Generally speaking the gps itself does not use the data. It is your mapping and that depends on what you use, Google maps or what ever but it does not use that much data. I think you should be fine.

# - I use Android so this may not apply to you but if you use Google Maps you can actually download certain maps and areas right to your phone. This will make for less data usage and quicker response when mapping your locations.
