Yes. I am in the mindset of providing FOR clients.. It's not very practical to give clients a backend for Wordpress if you're using it as a CMS. That's where the hacking comes in, and that's where the mess comes in.
Of course if you're the only one who accesses it, you don't really need to hide certain things from yourself, so Wordpress could be used. I still recommend Expression Engine over WP, once you get it, it's amazing how flexible it truly is. You pretty much just handle data, any way you like.
