How to stop hotlinking of attachments?

I have found my attachments showing up linked directly to the image on my site by using the attachment id such as: domain/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=10132&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1199614379...

I submitted the server logs from the host and a ticket at vb so time will tell what they get back with of info.:)

I am at a loss here...

I had vb 3.6 from around 2008 and dident upgrade until recently to vb 4.2.1.

The 3.6 was just with standard default captcha and 1 required field nothing else...
