Tried everything, Spambots still register!

I've got VBulletin 3.8.1,

I'm signed up to reCAPTCHA and have the public/private codes. Yet spam bots still register, it hasn't effected them at all. It's defiantly turned on too.

I found a while back an article on how to use the Vbulletin group permissions on your own pages. (This is not the 'How to create your own Vbulletin Pages').

I like the awards/medals part of this mod but not...

I like the awards/medals part of this mod but not all the experience/leveling stuff, is that something I can turn on and off easily?

I just want the ability to manually award medals to members.
