the idea is to make a longquote or something to tha effect, where you have a hybrid between the code tags...

yeah, you might want to ask on joomla if there is a way to separate the membership database from the content database

overlapping both databases might be slow/disorganized in terms of content...

if the bridge is joomla-side and pulls the users from joomla and pushes them into vB, i dont think you'll have too much of a problem hammering it out

I think you can do a usergroup based off of posts...

I think you can do a usergroup based off of posts and only allow people that are of that usergroup to post in that forum.

I don't think you need to hack vB to do this.
