Mod for 3.0 or 3.5?
I'm fairly new at vB hacks, but I've been doing phpBB hacks for a while now (as well as PHP itself).
I'm just curious as to which version I should begin my endeavour. It seems that 3.5 uses a different system altogether for mods (now plug-ins?). And from what I've read, 3.0 hacks won't work on this system. When is 3.5 due for release? I see its in RC3 stage. I'm just not sure how many RC's it goes through before release. So can someone lend some insight with this? I'd hate to put a lot of time into something only to have it become obselete so soon. Thanks and happy coding. :bandit: |
Well it all depends, are you looking to learn more for future advancement, or are you looking to make people happy right now :). Most people are still on 3.0.X as of right now, BUT I believe alot of that will change once vB 3.5 goes gold so, for future advancement I would do 3.5, but if you just want to make some people happy as of right now I would start with 3.0.X series.
