is there a way to get users to see the topic but not read it untill they are register
 
How do I make it so guests can see a forum but can not access the insides untill the register. I want them to be able to see the topics available but not be able to go inside those topics untill they have registered. can this be done easily?

it does not look like that hack will allow the guests to still be able to see the forum. I want them to see that there is a forum there but make them login to see it. I dont want them to see inside the forum unless they have registered.

So you actually want
  • That guests cannot view threads
  • Guests can see forums, but not the threads they contain
?

yes exactly. but I Want this only for certain groups and for certain forums

This hack lets you see the forums, but when they attempt to click on a thread, prompts them to register/login. You can disable this feature on a forum-by-forum basis. I have it installed at http://www.efhs84.com/ - try it out. Some forums you can view messages, others you can't.

Well, just set the usergroup permission Can view others' threads to No for those groups/forums.
