php in templates?
why can't php be used the templates? and how do you go about getting around that?
|
Because of how the template system works, and you dont ^^
you can use the phpinclude_Start and end templates to include php coding. Or you can hardcode it into the files. |
sorry, I am just a bit new to this...
I know it's a lot to ask, but could you walk me through one of these (or both, even)? I need number_format($newuserid); to work in a template :) |
$trueusers = number_format($newuserid);
in phpinclude start :) add $trueusers If somthigns wong vB wont let you save, if it doesnt let me know :) |
thank you for the quick reply.
I've looked around (maybe I'm just missing things), but is there any place that explains the basic of vb hacking? |
Theres a link in my sig that will explain some of the very basic things in vB3 :)
|
hm it doesn't seem to be working.
I'm getting "Total Members: 0" this is vb2, actually. I saw your sig, I figured that was just changes from vb2 to vb3 hacking :\ |

why are we in vB2?! |
so you don't know how to do this in vb2?
I just prefer vb2 over 3. x_X |
Id need to find my vB2 files and work on them ;)
Any reason? vBulletin 3 is highly optmized for larger boards, runs smoother and has tons and tons of standard features that vB2 didnt have, and 99% of them can be turned off |
