Is it safe to empty the "searchindex" table?
searchindex - 26,634 - 662.1 KB
Is it safe to empty it? Satan |
You can empty it, but then searches will not work on your forums.
|
so you have to reindex it afterwards ;)
|
But then what's the point of emptying it in the first place? Better to just leave it alone.
|
well whenever i want to download my DB i empty the searchindex before ;), less time needet
that's the point *gg* also as you can read in the ACP: reindex searchindex: rarely needed, so why don't do it the complicated way by emptying the table via phpmyadmin first ;) :) |
How would I re-index it?
Satan |
On the upgrade counters page, at the bottom I think, there is a hyperlink to delete the search index and a forum button to re-index ;)
|
So what is the final verdict? lol We can or cannot?

is it safe to reindex while the forum open!! , I don't want to close the forum for 24 hours :D
and kindly what is the query to see the most used words in your searchindex. Thanks |
Arunan: Yes you can, but normally there's no need to do it...
@Remi: normally you can do it on a running board, because it looks if a word already exists.... |
