Before you install this hack you need to install my latest hack of "User defined Maximum Line for Signature"

if the 1st is just for line, this one include char, your user can set their own maximum line and chars for viewing other signature

I must say I'm having a WTF? moment myself. I don't see a great differance between this and the hack in the other thread you posted the link to.

There is a big bug with this.

If a user has a sig with a link in it, it'll not close it.
So, your user wants a sig length of 15 characters, but the sig is: ...then the displayed sig will show the link opening, but not closing again, screwing all your HTML up underneath.

Couldn't think of an (easy) way to fix this.
