i search'd but couldn't find it, don't really know what this hack would be called, unless it is in the templates......

Its just a template modification, that I worked out my own version of at my forums as well, using icons instead of text in my graphic styles and text in my text based styles.

could anyone point me to a good set of directions to do this??
