Question on installing Multiple forums on same domain.

Hey guys ... had a question on something I have never tried before.

I would like to set up a site that has two types of users. Basically it would have a consumer side and wholesale side. As a result I would have two sub domains off the main site that each user group would use:

Example:

http://consumers.mywebsite.com

http://wholesale.mywebsite.com

This would be easy to do, however I want to share the user DB so that "wholesalers" can have access to the "consumers" forums, but can restrict "consumers" from accessing the "wholesalers" forums.

I thought about doing two installs in each subdomain folder and then linking the DB using of of the hacks on here: ie: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=118473

However I havnt seen any of those for VB4.

My question to you guys is there a workaround where I can have a single install, and then have forums show up on each subdomain based on user permissions?

For example:

if you go to http://wholesale.mywebsite.com the forums for wholesalers show up to those in the "wholesalers" user group but if a "consumer" user go there is will deny access.

Then if a user goes to: http://consumers.mywebsite.com all users will see the consumers forums.

I hope this makes sense. Ideally I want the "wholesalers" to be able to market to each other and consumers, but not allow the consumers to see whats being talked about on the wholesaler side.
