Subforum hide?

How to make specific subforums show, and some of them hide on the mainpage?

Lynne 05-07-2009 02:18 PM

If you set their Display Order to '0', then they won't show.

TBH, I haven't seen it done and I don't think it's a default option.

Then they wouldn't show at all, right?. He wants to hide some of them on the mainpage, but not hide them everywhere.

Wouldn't that be all or nothing?

I'm not sure what he wants, obviously, but if you set display order to 0 in the forum manager, then they won't show on the index.php page, but you can link to them (like the Modifications and Styles and Graphics categories here on vb.org). If you are wanting to hide them only on, say, the index.php page, then you can either write a plugin to do so (recommended), or modify the template to check the forumid and if it's x, then don't show it (not as recommended, but probably easier).

What i want is this;
Quote:

Index page

Forum A
Subforums (showing)

Forum B
Subforums (hidden)
However, I do not want these to effect the forumdisplay page. I want all subforums to show on the forumdisplay page..

Hope this was clearer..
