Make a user Member of 2 Usergroups

Hey guys I got a question

Is it possible to make a User automaticly member of a second usergroup if he joins the first usergroup through the Usercp?

To clarify this I want to give a random example.

I got 3 usergroups in my forum:
  • Registered Users (default)
  • Customers (not joinable)
  • Vip for lifetime (joinable)
The usergroup "Registered Users" is the default one, which you get when you register at the board. The "Customers" usergroup is just a tag which shows that you are a customer of our page, and then theres the "vip for lifetime" which indicates, that you paid some money or whatever.

Now what I want is, that when you join the usergroup "Vip for lifetime", then it automatically sets you also as a member of the "Customers" group, does anyone have an idea how to do that?

Thanks in advance

Sorry I don't know how to do this but I know that you can edit primary and secondary user groups so thats how to do it manually

I am currently doing it manually, but it gets kinda annoying to change about 30 users group memberships a day.

How are you doing the "vip for lifetime" set up? If it's a paid subscription then you can set the customer's usergroup as a secondary usergroup. Or why not give the VIPs the same permissions as the customers? That way they don't have to be a member of two usergroups.

Well thats the problem, its not a paid subscription, ist just a simple usergroup which can be joined through the usercp, and if the responsable person approves the application, then he'll be a member of that usergroup immediately. And lets say, I just wanted to know if its possible, because I know that I could just give them the same rights, but I'd like to keep it as it is.
