That's why you need to buy a good router (Netgear). ;)

I have a Netgear FVS318 Router/Firewall and I went to Netgear after trying numerous Linksys Routers and THEY suck. I have never had a single problem with my Netgear and I have had it going on 3 years. I couldn't get a Linksys to last more than a few weeks. And their support REALLY sucks. ;)

I only had to get my Linksys router replaced once, at that was because ++++ kept falling on it.

I have both a Netgear WGT624 Wireless Firewall Router and a Netgear WG111T USB 2.0 Wireless Adapter.

Once I reset the router to it's default factory settings, everything has been working like clockwork since.. :)

I had the same thing happen with Vonage, when a router went bad. I was on my celll phone for 2 hours, connected to 5 different people off/on and they all told me the same exact procedure to try (for rebooting the router) and of course it didn't work. I asked the first guy for a RMA, and it wasn't until 2 hours later that the 5th guy finally gave me one.

I called Linksys for my new router asking why WEP wasn't working but WPA and no encryption both were. They kept trying to dodge the issue and get rid of me until I kept repeating the problem. Their solution was to RMA it which is ridiculous given it's clearly a software issue. The problem has since fixed itself, plus I use WPA now that I got my last Wifi device drivers upgraded to support it.
