vB Competition Ideas wanted!
 

Hey there everybody,

We are going to have a nice competition where we will be giving away a free vb license, but in order to do so we need to have a competition.

Does anybody here have a nice idea that could bring us more members and posts?

If any idea gets validated, make sure its easy to win ^_^ That way I can have a go

If you are talking about this site, it is pretty obvious that a competition should be made that encourages creative hacking.

If you're looking for more members, well, that's a job for Jelsoft sales over on vb.com one would think :D

You could just give to me, thus eliminating the stress of a competition. :)

One of the reasons to have a competition is to get the site known with new public, get more members to sign up and hopefully result with an increase in post count.

Giving it away just won't work.

Things I wouldn't want to see:

Productive posts competition, referall contest, style contest, programing contest.

Things I would like to see:

Something statistical where the winner would be judged on facts and figures, not opinions and possible biases :)

We already had a productive post competition. That worked rather well. We are looking into referral options, but due to spoofed/fake signups, etc . I am not too fund of taking it serious. Styles, Designs, Hacking, etc .. not what I am looking for either.

Definately not the most posts or referal. Need something original... Umm... I don't know. I'll give it some thought.

That would be appriciated. I am running out of good ideas.

why not have users submit their forums to vb.nl and the one that looks least like a bb/vb site wins or most origional. i know the sites submitted would get increased traffic but its just an idea

I like the idea. We will consider it.

Ohh I like that idea too. I'm launching a site whereby the forums will look nothing like a default vB :D

What will they look like?

Maybe a web-designing contest where members would create a unique header design for Vbulletin.com.

The competition is : submit your site to our featured forums - forum as a new thread, then we add it to a poll, and in a period of 2 months people can vote on the sites.

The site with the most votes wins.

first prize: owned license + free pro style + karma points + resources access
second prize: leased licenses + free pro style + karma points + resources access
third prize: cafepress item + free pro style + karma points + resources access.

to make it more competitive their should be a forum where you submit your site in a new thread. but no one else can see it but yourself and the admins. then once a deadline reaches you open the forum up (no other submissions accepted) then allow people to vote on which forum they want to win.

i think that way will be better of a challenge so people cant see which site got in and then go and change the look of their site to something better then what they already saw.
