My God, I've missed this place...
 

My vB leased license ran out on December 9th. I thought: no big deal. I'll convert to IPB.

IPB, while a very good free board, just didn't compare. I found myself longing for vB.

Simple solution? I got a job. First paycheck, bought myself another license.

You will have to re-new a year after purchase

but shouldnt lifetime mean..... lifetime? I think $160 should last a lifetime, not one year and then pay another $30 for renewal :confused:

$160 means you can use that version you have forever. To download newer versions or get support, you need to renew your access to the members area for $30 per year.

This is opposed to the leased license, which means you can only use vB for one year, not for life.

I don't mind 30 a year. Worth every penny, actually we're getting off easy.

here's a question, if you have an owned licience, can you still download hacks after the 1 year has passed?

Yes, you can.

You dont get access to the members area on vbulletin.com, correct?

correct.... that is why I always backup old versions of vB just incase my members' area runs out.... because after it does no more downloading vB.

I have about 5 versions of vB on my computer. When i get the time, i am going to re-install a vB2 board, for support purposes only (helping support people still using vB2)

I have the cheaper license so i need too renew in June i think, Yet with me, im not bothered about having the board or downloading the hacks, i would pay the renewal fee just so i could carry on posting here
