Redirection Removal

Thank you to whoever removed the redirection after posts and etc! I likes! :D

assassingod 05-22-2003 06:11 PM

Has it gone?

Xenon 05-22-2003 06:35 PM

yeah it's gone since a few days ^^

Gary King 05-22-2003 07:13 PM

Just in case someone wants to remove the redirection as well on their forums, you can find it here:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=32564

And oh, I like it as well :)

I wondered why it was so quick to return to the thread;)

I posted in the mod forum first :p

Could somebody figure out how to rewrite the redirection() function, so it displays the text in the redirection template somewhere at the top of the page, not showing the page between, as it is now?!

filburt1 05-25-2003 12:11 PM

Please post your own request thread...

About the re-direction:

At a board I am developing, one of my developers did not like the fact that there were no more re-direction templates...

So I added a new field to the user table, and edited member.php, functions.php and user.php so that the member could decide whether to have re-direction templates or not - Think you could do that here?:)

It would stop the users who like re-direction templates from complaining;)

No serious hacking will be done here on vBulletin.org unless its deemed absolutely necessary as we plan on using vb3 very soon :)

But i'm glad the redirect has gone:p

LOL. If you gave me a dollar for everytime I've read that, I'd be a millionaire.

Xenon 05-26-2003 06:20 PM

@Satan: Nope, as Dean already said :)

@Smoothie: well it's true, if you define very soon as a timespan of 2 years ;)

It's time to get used to vB3, people. :) Remember, vB3 has NOT redirection pages. So get used to it. ;)

Chris M 05-27-2003 10:49 AM

So?

vB3 may not - This is vB2 last time I checked...........

Ok so you are upgrading soon - What is to stop people from making a re-direct?

And since you hacked it to remove re-directs, this would technically be an improvement upon the hack;)

Xenon: you mind showing me how you removed the redirect? That link on the first page (rediirect hack) doesn't work with all browsers...

Which browsers does it not work with?

And I assume that you are talking about the link I posted?
