Lost the wysiwyg
Since my forum was updated to 4.1.10 I have lost the WYSIWYG editor toolbar? Can anyone help me as to how I can get this back please?

Create a new style with no parent:

Thanks Lynn it appeared to be fine when doing that but then after 5 or so minutes poof the WYSIWYG editor was gone again. Guess I am up .....Creek without a paddle on this one as I am also being told I need to have a whole new template designed which clearly costs big bucks lol. Anyways Guess I will continue to find alternative resolutions to this issue. Appreciate your help Lynn.
--------------- Added [DATE]1326811638[/DATE] at [TIME]1326811638[/TIME] --------------- Yip same thing appears when I am logged in as admin then 5 minutes later after doing a refresh it is gone again :( --------------- Added [DATE]1326819690[/DATE] at [TIME]1326819690[/TIME] --------------- Apparently my template will not work with the new version 4.1.10 at least that is what I am told? Does this mean I need to go out and have a completely new template designed for my site because I elected to update to this newest version? It is weird because if I log into the admin panel go to styles and templates and select another the WYSIWYG editor appears but then 5 minutes later after going to different threads and trying to reply it just disappears. I really hope someone can suggest a better fix to this issue than me having to spend more money to get a new template designed. Thanks for taking the time to read this and hopefully helping me with an easy fix? |
That really doesn't make sense that it keeps disappearing. You are making no other changes on the site after you create the new default style - no changes in the admincp? No changes in your usercp?

What do you have your human verification options set to?

--------------- Added [DATE]1326849205[/DATE] at [TIME]1326849205[/TIME] --------------- Ok so as admin if I go in the admin panel click on say default vbulletin style I get the WYSIWYG......Then when I end my session and log out then log back in the WYSIWYG is gone does that help at all to maybe pin point the issue? |
In styles section in the admincp do you have default mobile styles picked in the drop downs?
If you do try making those 'none' ...save and see if that helps. |
Appreciate the recommendation Kevin But I don't even have default mobile styles in the drop down.
Apparently because I have a a custom theme it needs to be recoded because it was not coded for some of the changes that came with 4.1.10.......An email from my site Tech this morning "Hello, to ensure every will work, I will try to recode the current theme from scracth to avoid any error may happens on the future. It may take up to 48h to complete, however it will save us ton of time on the future. I will let you know when the upgrade is finished. Please be a little bit patience Regards," Hopefully this works but I must admit it it a bit frustrating when you have to outsource the work you need done without knowing that the code change in the software you purchased was going to screw up your current custom template you paid to have done initially. Understood. Do you have your normal style chosen in those sections though?
Your style really isn't that custom that it would need to be redone. At least from what I can see. Good luck getting it figured out. |
Yes my normal style is selected then I even tried a Lynn suggested and created a default vbulletin style and the weird part is like I said before if you're an admin you can go through the admin panel and select a style click on it the forum opens and the WYSIWYG appears just fine throughout your duration but once you log out of the forum and back in bam it is no longer there. Apparently there must have been some custom coding somewhere and you are right my style isn't that custom where it should need recoding which kind of irks me as I am sure you can tell lol. Appreciate the Help and the good luck Keven much appreciated!!

So your normal style is selected in the mobile drop downs right? Remove them. Choose none.
If you want to pm me a login I will be happy to take a look for you. |
Private message sent Kevin and appreciated of course!!!

Well Kevin came to the rescue and fixed it for me thank you very much Kevin. Anyone wondering what I was doing wrong here is what my issue was if I don't have an actual mobile style selected it kills the editor so Kevin took care of this for me and again very appreciative Kevin!!!! |
I was trying to figure out the same prob for last 48 hours.... Nothing was working.... Thanks to Kevin for the solution....
