Email notifications spacing problem

Hello, users of Windows Live/Hostmail are experiencing the same problem with regards to spacing and line breaks in their email notifications,

they are seeing email such as;

http://www.theflickzone.com/attachme...here-snap3.jpg

Any ideas of what's causing this?

Are we supposed to see an image? (Cuz I don't.)

I can't see the images. I get a standard vbulletin no permission screen.

So basically they are not seeing html email. Is this only from your forum or from any forum? I have no idea what Windows Live/Hostmail is, so I don't know what it's limitations may be.

Correct, this is only from my forum.

I meant Windows Live/ Hotmail

Has this always been broken or is it something recent that has been broken? Have you tried disabling mods and seeing if you can get it to work properly? Do you have a test site where you can tinker with things and see if you can get it working properly?

Right, I am not so sure about this, it works when no plugins are installed, however, it was going fine until I enabled: Sidebar polls and Skip Forum Rules Step at Registration mods, however, I disabled both, and the emails were still skewed, I went back up the mod list to find a place where it wasn't skewed, and SecureWorks was the one. So I continue going through my list of mods, but the email is skewed, so I can't tell which mod is causing the problem :/

I don't mind giving you temporary forum access to see what I mean.

The thing is that simple disabling a product does not necessarily turn it off completely. If there are file edits or template edits, then it can still cause the problem. The only real way to completely get rid of a product/modification to see if it was the problem is to uninstall the product, remove all files you uploaded, and undo any file edits and template edits. I would try doing that with those last couple of mods and see if that fixes the issue.

None of them added files to the instance, but I don't see any evidence of it editing the template either.

Do you have a test forum that has this same issue? It would be easier for you to figure it out there cuz what you really should do is unintall, completely, your mods until you find the culprit. The three you listed above don't look like they would cause the problem, but obviously one of your modifications is if you can fix the problem by disabling them all. If I had to fix this without a test site, I guess I would grab a piece of scratch paper and list every mod, then go to every thread and list every file and change it makes, and then start by uninstalling all the easy ones and then the ones with added files or file changes until I found the problem mod.

I do have a test site, however, these modifications aren't all installed. What seems to have fixed the problem is disabling:

Sidebar Polls
Send Message Auto-reply
SecureWorks (sorry IBxAnders)

To temporary resolve the issue whilst I clone this vB instance to my private development sandbox and resume investigation.

Sometimes modifications conflict with each other, which may be the case with one of those. Being that the problem is regarding messages, I can't help but think it may have something to do with the Send Message Auto-reply mod. However, I don't have any experience with any of those mods, so I really don't know.

We've removed that because we no longer require it, we built that mod ourselves :)
Well now the problem has gone :D
