A niche market. You gotta find that niche.

Try facebook. Register and make friends with your target audience. It's working really well for me. Was able to attract dozens to my site and not only that, most became members and are now posting / discussing things related to their interest on my forum.

Link swaps work rather well in some cases. Your forum name in your sig at other forums with some snappy phrasing gets attention.

It's tough finding forums that allow that though. Many don't like competitors :D

I will try some of these tips to. Seriously spending so much time trying to get the forum out there.

Put your forum link in signatures on other forums!

The tips posted are helpful to a certain extent.The problem is VB! If you want to generate traffic and vb might not like it or it goes against their code of coduct if you like.Personally i believe they should get their heads together as they are living in the past. The decline in community members on forums is a real life situation,so if they want keep people paying for a license they should look at re-newing their terms and conditions..

The above comments also relate to your host. A lot of money being paid out by us all,and nothing in return for all the hard work we all put in,due to restrictions..

Established sites will disagree,buts what new there! change the rules and the newcomers become the competitors..
