Linkbee Links Manager [STATS/SHORT-URL/CASH]

What is the Linkbee Links Manager?

As read about on CNET / Venturebeat / Yahoo News and many more, Linkbee has now developed an application for all vbulletin webmasters, dubbed the Linkbee Link Manager!

Linkbee provides the ability to combine three important aspects, social bookmarking, a url service that converts long url links into shorter url links, and a service that turns your existing links and new links into cash! Great for bloggers, forum users, webmasters, business users and more. Linkbee makes it easy and simple to get paid for posting and sharing links.

The purpose of Linkbee.com is to shorten your url's, track stats, manage links and allow yourself to earn a little cash while doing so. Not all users on Linkbee opt to place ads on their short links, but the ones who do will end up walking away with a cheque! All this has now come to vBulletin, we've developed an add-on which allows your users to automatically shorten their links and earn cash. Better yet, we've built the option for webmasters to earn cash as well, either by referral or by just simply encoding all new links under their own account.

SIMPLE PLUGIN INSTALL - The installation is as simple as it gets, and there is no reason to avoid installing this add-on. You're only providing your users with more incentive to use your forums.

Sounds interesting. Going to check this out now!

The hack seems to make two (2) links in my linkbee account for every one link I make on my forum. Other that that is seems to work great!

Thanks for the feedback, I'll have our team look at the link duplication asap.

I can't get it to work with my quick reply. It works fine when replying using the normal method, just not using quick reply.

Hey I will need a little more information. What hacks do you currently have installed and what version of VB are you running?

nascartr 09-28-2008 12:46 AM

Let me elaborate just a bit more...there is no checkbox to convert the links to LinkBee links in the quick reply box thus any links posted do not get converted as they do when using the full reply box.

We are looking into any possible conflicts with any of the above hacks.

From the quick reply box, links should automatically convert if the user fills in the account information or if the webmaster fills in their account information and opts in the admin to convert all links.

I registered on your site but you have to be a premium member to post so there's no way to know if this works on quick reply or not since the demo site can't be tested without a premium membership. I guess for now I'll consider this to not work on the quick reply until we get a demo that allows us to test for free. The sad part is when I click to become a premium member I am taken to a 404 Page Not Found page. I love the addon but something needs to be fixed or proven that the quick reply works.

This is a bug in our forums, will be fixing. We just launched a new platform for Jokeroo.com and there seems to be a few bugs. Let me know your username I can enable you to test right away. I'll also let everyone know when the bug is fixed for new registrations.

nascartr 09-28-2008 06:48 PM

I sent you a PM with my details.

nascartr 09-28-2008 07:06 PM

Ok, the full reply link converted to a linkbee link. The quick reply did not.

One thing I noticed that I could do on my board is edit the quick reply post with the advanced post editor and then submit and the link would convert. As for converted by just using quick reply it did not. I think it may have something to do with the AJAX feature of quick reply.

GoTTi 09-28-2008 07:34 PM

not working for me. using recent version of forum software

GoTTi 09-28-2008 07:37 PM

to make sure i understand this thing....i install the mod, then in options i put my linkbee info in the options area, then the links posted should be converted to linkbee link? i set it to real time and it didnt work, and i had it on cron job and i manually ran the job and it didnt work.

i set the usergroup setting for admins to work for the linkbee so i can test it.

got a question tho, if we get this to work, and then down the road i want to uninstall this mod, do all the links on the forum going to linkbee convert back or stay pointing to linkbee?

Have you tried it using the full reply? That's the only way I could get it to work.

GoTTi 09-28-2008 07:43 PM

ya i saw the post here about that, so i did the full one and still didnt convert the links

We have replicated the quick reply issue. It's directly related with additional plugins being installed. A Fix will be released shortly.

jokaroo 09-28-2008 08:23 PM

Gotti, please pm me your forum and any additional plugins you may have installed. Thanks.

jokaroo 09-28-2008 10:23 PM

We have identified the error with the quick reply box and have fixed it. We have now released version 1.0.1 which should no longer have the quick reply box error. Thanks!

nascartr 09-28-2008 10:39 PM

Works great now. Thanks!

Magnumutz 09-29-2008 07:16 AM

Can this rewrite all the external links to gain cash?

Yes, ofcourse. That's one of the main features of this plugin.
A webmaster can enter in his/her default Linkbee account to earn cash on all outgoing links on his/her forums.

Magnumutz 09-29-2008 07:37 PM

Sweet, that's pretty awesome :)
I'm gonna search the pay rates on the website and pay methods.

Hornstar 09-29-2008 09:53 PM

Payout:
Interstitial $1.00 for 1,000 visits Banner $1.00 for 2,000 visits No ads $1.00 for 100,000 visits

How do I get paid?

Users have three options for payment. Paypal, Epassporte and Cheque. All cheque payments have a $25 processing fee.

- lol if someone makes $25 and wants a Cheque - I think paypal will be the way to go for most with that high of a fee.

What is Interstitial?

Also is it 1000 visits per link or if I have 1000 links and each link gets visited once, will that be 1000?

Thanks.

jokaroo 09-30-2008 05:00 PM

For interstitial, 1000 visits on 1 link or 1 visits on each 1000 links pays $1.00 (rates subject to change). As long as the visits are unique, the visit qualifies.

GrendelKhan{TSU 10-01-2008 04:03 AM

VERY interesting and promising. will definitely test this.

before install ....anyone know if there is an issue with vbSEO. seems like their would considering both rewrite.

jokaroo 10-01-2008 05:27 AM

There is no issue with vbSEO, we have vbSEO installed on the Jokeroo forums (the demo). :)

nascartr 10-01-2008 06:07 AM

This really is great. I mean before you just posted links with no chance of earning money and now you can post links and potentially earn a few bucks. Free mod to help earn money! Awesome!

gwerzal 10-02-2008 12:11 PM

Hi

This could be a great mod but i cant get it to work.

I have fully installed it and checked it to make sure i done it right but none of my links are being converted.

I have set the usergroup options and the options in vbulletin options.

Any idea what the problem could be.

Will it convert all older links or just new links also?

Thank you in advance
ben jones

gwerzal 10-02-2008 12:20 PM

I have got it working by adding my details into the user cp but linkbee links are not showing up as default if a user does not have an acount.

Also is there any way to change it where it sais linkbee.com to using my affiliate link so i can earn off referals

Also if you are the owners of linkbee it would also be much much better if when the page comes up with the banner above it or when the ad shows for 10 seconds if you used the person who's link it is referal.

This program and linkbee in general would be much more apealing to use as i bet a lot of people sign up through them links and they should be our referals

Unfortunately we do not carry this feature. In order to convert every link, it would make 1000's of requests to our DB and its something we can't add at this moment.

gwerzal 10-06-2008 11:35 PM

thats a pity.

Thanks for the reply

jokaroo 11-10-2008 11:59 AM

Looks like everything is running smoothly for everyone. Anyone else have any bug reports?

pnosko31 11-10-2008 09:28 PM

i get

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '=', expecting ')' in /public_html/forum/includes/functions_linkbee.php on line 311

pnosko31 11-20-2008 03:58 PM

guess no answer for me...oh well
