Allow BBCode in Sticky Thread Titles
Due to the pricing and yearly fee of vBulletin I am no longer creating mods for vBulletin, instead I have stepped out of the shadow of vBulletin to create my own stand alone mods. I wish to thank everyone who downloaded and installed my mods but as of now with not being able to afford hosting and vBulletin, I decided to drop vBulletin so hopes of me returning would only happen if my newest venture brings me a nice profit.
Thank you all again Steve |

I was going to do this a while ago and completely forgot about it. Thankyou very much for bringing it back to my attention and nice job.
|
LOL, yw and glad I'm not the only one that likes updating mods.
|
Interesting... but.. It don't works in "Search results" U_U
|
how to enable it??
i install it on localhost and i dont find option in admincp or in usergroup permissions and the version still 1.0 |
baghdad4ever: this version does not have usergroup permissions or options in admincp. Once its installed, its already working, just use bbcode in a thread title and make it a sticky. version 1.0 is just a mistake, I will change it when I release the updated version with new features.
Jhonny: Yes that the issue I am working on currently, getting bbcode to show on forumhome, when viewing the thread, search results. |
It works, but a bad side effect is that you see the BBCode in the thread name once you are in the thread (above the real thread post)
|
Skyrider: As I stated in the release post, thread titles will not parse bbcode when viewing the forum home or the thread, that is something I am working to change.
|
Works well wuth me
but I'm watting ur developing to fix the problems |
Last time, there are no problems. If people keep assuming there are problems I will not support this mod any longer.

Like I stated earlier, right now it doesn't not parse bbcode from thread title when viewing thread or from forumhome. I am currently working on doing that.
|
Is there a way we can have this for all threads; not just stickies
thanks |
And the smilies in the normal thread, possible ?
|
aspen: I am working on a version that will do just that.
Allan: Whatcha mean? Smilies in thread titles? |

Interesting idea, I will look into that.

PS. *Tagged, looking for new developments ... :D |
Steve, I got this working in Search posts and Search threads as well as the postbit title on a sticky thread. What other places were you trying to get it to work?
|
Boofo: Trying to get it set so users could use bbcode in thread titles based on usergroup perms. Also the forumhome trying to get it to reflect there.
|
So you're not doing this just for sticky threads anymore? I liked it better like that.
|
Well if everyone likes it for sticky only and only 1 person so far has requested it for all threads.
I will not do all thread titles unless more request. Aside from that, the rest of what I stated still stands. |
I'd like it if it was for all threads. :)
|
In the page's title the bbcode is shown, see this screenshot:
http://rwxrwxrwx.net/sticky_bbcode.png Both in the HTML's <title> element and on top of the page you can see the BBCode. This is a nice mod, and would install it if this issue would be resolved ... |
Carpetsmoker: Yes and I have stated earlier that it was a bug we are trying to figure out.
|
James: I will see what I can do but I am not gonna push for all threads.

THREAD TITLES LIKE THIS!? I, for one, do not. |
I would like the option to have smilies in all thread titles; not bbcode
thanks |
Smilies are considered bbcode. ;)
|
There is possibility to do in thread normal ?
|
Possibility yes, will I probably not.

Probably not, security issues, if I manage to find a secure way of using bbcode in all thread titles then I will release but otherwise probably not.
|
Nothing more on this mod? Almost 2 months with no word on it... anything on the showing bbcode bug? This mod has great potential, shame to see it neglected.
I cast my vote for stickys only, and possibly some admincp options, always my security blanket. :) |
Not neglected, I just have a life. LOL
|
Oh, I thought this had adminCP options. It would work much better that way I think.
|
can you please do this to normal threads too?
|
Amm0: It will have admincp options.
orel: No, I have decided it will be too big of a security issue and not many people agree on making it work for normal threads as well. |
and what about the people who do want it? in my board it's very important
