New PC - Need Help
I'm about to build a new PC.
https://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion...w+PC+%2D+Final I've compiled this list. Does anyone have any suggestions, or see anything that is incompatible? Should I get two 8800GTS's (512MB) or one 8800GTS (768MB)? And did I miss anything? Because I need everything except a monitor. EDIT:: Thinking of swapping: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16814130312 with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130304 |
Is this computer mainly for gaming or work?
I checked everything out and it looks good to go. I have the same quad core and it is a great system. |
i know nothing about PCs...
oh, wait, i know why... i'm on a Mac! btw, these configs are quite impressive... hopefully you have the budget to fulfill your dream! |

Nice setup. :)
Also consider: - UPS (battery backup and surge protection) - Multiple Hard Drives (system partition should be small and physically separated from your storage drives) |

If your power ever goes off and your computer doesn't properly shut down you can damage your hardware. Just a friendly recommendation. :)

to tell you the truth, the quad cores are better for business/etc. where there will be alot of multi-tasking. i would stick with a duo core for gaming. (this is my opinion, and by no means is it an expert one)
i run a intel e6750 oc'd to 3.2ghz and it screams. |

lol, i understand what you mean. But i can get the same (or darn close to it) performance from my dual core.
BUT if you dont like to upgrade every two years or so like i do, then the quad core will be your best bet. im not looking at the quads till they have the 1333mHz fsb. again, my opinion. i just offer people something else to think about. |
Heatsink and thermal compound appear to be missing
