What version do you now run

I'm curious (mainly for support purposes) as to what version of vBulletin people are now running.

akanevsky 11-19-2006 01:14 PM

3.5.0 on a customer site and 3.6.1 on a personal site.

toonysnn 11-19-2006 01:27 PM

I run vB 3.6.x cause I like the latest versions, if I didn't, I'd be with 3.5.1 right now.. :p

Allan 11-19-2006 03:43 PM

vB 3.6.x ^^

Shazz 11-19-2006 03:44 PM

3.6 (3.5 for test :) )
lol at 2.x

RedTyger 11-19-2006 04:28 PM

Always try to keep myself up to date...so 3.6.x on all sites so far.

Ziki 11-19-2006 04:50 PM

vB 3.6.x, like to stay updated :)

Adrian Schneider 11-19-2006 08:08 PM

3.6.x

BamaStangGuy 11-20-2006 04:39 AM

3.6.x here. Love it.

Paul M 11-20-2006 09:21 AM

Do those people currently not on 3.6 think they will have moved by the start of 2007. If not, why not - what is your reason for sticking with an older version ? - and are you prepared for the fact that coders will not continue to support older versions of mods.

peterska2 11-20-2006 10:30 PM

All of them!

I'm not joking either, I have currently got a 2.3.10 (needs upgrading again when I have finished the project I'm working on with it), a 3.0.13 (again needs upgrading) and a 3.5.4 (also needs upgrading) all set up as test boards and 2 3.6.2's (might upgrade at some point but knowing my luck it'll be to 3.6.9 or something by the time I get round to it!) as live boards.

Why have older versions? Because I like to play with things and I find the whole plugin system, especially now most people even do template mods by plugin, very boring and I like to get my hands dirty and do "proper" coding in both PHP and templates.

If I had had vB long enough then I would probably have a 1.x installed as a test board too!!!!

:cross-eyed:
:hurt:
!!!
I would have a hard time on a vB 2 board

peterska2 11-20-2006 11:45 PM

I love coding for vB2 but there just isnt the demand for it any more so most of it I do just for fun. After all, why bother firing up a 3.6 or 3.5 when I'm in a 2.3 and can do exactly the same thing in that and then just need to convert the code to 3.6 or 3.5 as required?

COBRAws 11-21-2006 02:06 AM

3.5 In december I will be upgrading to 3.6. I need some old 3.5 hacks ported to 3.6 without them I wouldnt be able to work properly :(

Yes. I should have completed the move by mid-December 2006, actually; what is delaying me is preparing all the skins in advance, since I use a fair few skins, hacks and add-on's.

Till I got working on preparing the changes very recently:
laziness and techno-fear
and also worry that certain add-on's would not work

Yes.

You can say that again. No FTP access at the moment either for me, so I'll start taking bets on the version that we are up to by the time I finally have enough access to the web to be able to even think about upgrading.

Paul M 12-01-2006 08:33 AM

So the majority are already on 3.6.

PoetJA-1975 12-01-2006 11:09 AM

I have two sites that are still running 3.5.4

Whether we will have them updated by 2007, I don't know. That depends on the guy that does the more technical aspects of my sites, and he is quite busy for the next month or so having to move all of his servers (he is an ISP) to a new server farm, plus he's just bought a bigger building for his business and has to move that, too.

I would imagine, though, that it will be sometime in early 2007 when we will upgrade, when things settle down.

Roxie 12-01-2006 01:55 PM

I'm on 3.6.x.
I loved vb2. :D

FLMom 12-01-2006 02:27 PM

I tried upgrading when the 3.6 first came out and nearly destroyed my site. I think my site was down for almost a week and we lost so much do to that.

I am stuck at 3.5.4 and will be until I am either brave enough to try again(which I don't see happening LOL ) or raise the funds(which I am pretty close too now) to pay VB to upgrade for me.

Either way, I am not sure I can do it before the year is out, even though I would love too! I guess time will tell :D

I'm on 3.5 now because I have so much work into my site that I don't have the time to redue it all again with an upgrade to 3.6. I'm sure the first few months of 07 i'll get my sites upgraded.

3.6 has been a smooth release and very stable now.

Actually the drama of "will this hack work for my 3.6 board and OMFG I'm pulling my hair out...." https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/

Actually I'm hoping to upgrade sometime soon - when the modifications I've installed on my 3.5 board are all compatible with 3.6

Could be - I'm just a lazy sap though :P

Jacquii.

hotwheels 12-02-2006 05:57 AM

3.6.* here..........

Talisman 12-02-2006 06:45 AM

Running 3.6.4 now with the latest versions of vBadvanced's CMPS and Photopost Pro. Missing the customized style we made based off a commercial skin that's sadly out of date ... still. :( Also miss some truly great hacks that got left behind. I sure enjoyed this a lot more during the vB2 days when it was "find this and replace with that" to modify just about anything you wanted.

MaestroX 12-02-2006 07:35 PM

3.6 ;)
