Conflicting index.php files...

I recently installed the vBadvanced, but the problem is both vB and vBadvanced use an index.php file and I want both to be in my root directory. I am trying to figure out how to do both, but I am unsure. What is the best way to approach this to where both index files are in my public_html folder? I know I have to change one of the filenames, but if I change the vb index.php filename, I don't know where to reflect it so that it always goes to that index name instead of the default index.php.

Confused? So am I.

Change the standard vbulletin index.php to something else, there is a setting in the acp to tell vb what it's called.

Derek 05-30-2006 11:08 PM

Where is the setting?

Paul M 05-30-2006 11:14 PM

vBulletin Options > Forums Home Page Options > Script Name for Forum Home Page

Derek 05-30-2006 11:15 PM

Ok, thank you.. my next problem is... http://www.forumfatale.com/ - the code is right from what I saw in the script config. This is a vbadvanced problem. All I did was remove the "/forums" from the path and now it is doing this.

Paul M 05-30-2006 11:19 PM

Sorry, I don't use VBA - sounds like something you would ask in their forums.

Kirk Y 05-30-2006 11:25 PM

You can just rename vBA's index.php to cmps_index.php, as I recall that used to be the default, I guess they must've change it -- but it'll work just fine being named cmps_index.php.

As for the error on your site, be sure you're using the full path to your file. My path is: "C:\Inet\sitename.net\httpdocs\forum" -- but I'm on a Windows server, so unless you are as well, it'd most likely be something like "blabla/hosting/public_html/forum"

Derek 05-30-2006 11:30 PM

Ok, next problem: I have another admin, and the other admin is only seeing four categories in the admin cp... what is going on? Do I need to do something?

But, it won't be /forum because it is all in my root. It isn't in a forum directory.

Kirk Y 05-30-2006 11:36 PM

So then it'd just be "blabla/hosting/public_html".

The categories might be something you need specific Admin Permission to view, I think Scheduled Tasks is one thing that you need to be allowed to view. Try going to Users -> Type in their Username -> Admin Permissions.

Derek 05-30-2006 11:47 PM

I fixed the admin problem... but the index problem is still there. I used the regular path, but it still isn't working.

Kirk Y 05-30-2006 11:57 PM

Hmm... the only thing I can think of is that it's the incorrect path -- you're certain it isn't? I believe vBA comes with a tool to determine the correct forumpath, have you tried using that?

Derek 05-30-2006 11:58 PM

Ok, actually, now I fixed the home page problem.

However, now, I have a new problem. The [img] code won't show images, it shows them as links... why?

Kirk Y 05-31-2006 12:02 AM

It's a setting in the vBA options in the Admin Panel, I believe.

Edit: Yep, if you're talking about the News module, it is. Go to Edit Modules -> News -> Scroll to bottom, Allow [IMG] Code.

Derek 05-31-2006 12:10 AM

No, main forums... [img] code won't show the image, but shows a link.

Kirk Y 05-31-2006 12:17 AM

Can you show me a link?

Derek 05-31-2006 01:08 AM

<a href="http://www.forumfatale.com/showthread.php?t=3" target="_blank">http://www.forumfatale.com/showthread.php?t=3</a>

Warning: My forum is a no rules forum, so don't click if you're offended my cursing.

Kirk Y 05-31-2006 01:35 AM

Are you sure you've enabled the IMG code to be used in Signatures? It's set on a per-usergroup basis.

Derek 05-31-2006 01:46 AM

This is the Admin usergroup... everything is set to yes.

Kirk Y 05-31-2006 02:08 AM

The user whose signature shows up as a link is an Administrator?

Well then... it must have something to do with renaming your index.php file, I can't think of anything else that would cause it. Wait for a response from someone else I guess, sorry.

Derek 05-31-2006 04:56 AM

Yes, the sig is an administrator. And no, because it did this before I renamed it.

Kirk Y 05-31-2006 06:35 PM

Look in your vBulletin Options -> Allow [IMG] Code in Signatures.

That's the only other thing I can think of.
