High score error message:

"Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.

The error returned was:

This score was not submitted from the game. Your score will not be saved. "

How can this be fixed?

MrZeropage 05-14-2006 11:17 AM

This only appears if you play more than one game in tabs or try to cheat

Each started game saves some information and if those are not returned correct while submitting any score, this error will appear.

This has happened to me when playing only ONE game at a time. Many of my users have complained about this as well. I was using ie and had only one window open, yet the error still occurred. Any way to fix it?

Stifmeister2 05-15-2006 09:25 PM

Tell your users to check "remember me" when they log in.

MrZeropage 05-16-2006 05:26 AM

Is it always the same Game ?

I recently got a new game that did the same, it did not submit its own name correct and thus the Arcade smells a Cheater ;)

I've just started to notice this error and was neither playing more than one game or trying to cheat. My board is setup to timeout after 10 minutes of inactivity, and this appears to be the culprit when the game playing time extends beyond this. Checking the "Remember me" box appears to help as suggested in a previous post.

Is it possible to add a code to trip an activity on the board at an admin set preset time?

Keyser520 05-17-2006 06:10 PM

One of my users has found the problem, though I'm not sure if there is a better solution that the one he suggests..

Ok,

As you know Keyser I was having this problem and reporting it before anyone knew about it. I've figured out the issue (I think).

The storage unit for scores does not work if you click the "back" tab. Most of us, and getting a score that doesn't work, the game starts to submit the score, and we click "back" to try again. Then we actually get a high score, and it WILL NOT SUBMIT.

In order to get your high scores recognized you have to relaunch the game after every successful try.

In other words, if you failed, click on the icon of the game instead of the "back" button, and it will relaunch the program. This automatically sends your information back to the game coding, and allows you to reap a high score.

For some reason the game loses your score if you "back" button before retrying the game.

Hope this helps, I haven't had this problem since....as you can see by 5 high scores...yay me!! :-)

Good day...

This is included and set to a fixed value of 120 seconds...

Same problem here, this eror message appears at most of the times.

No cheating, no multiple tabs games.

What to do?

MrZeropage 06-07-2006 05:28 PM

Please provide URL+Account to your forum so I can test this a little ...

Sarthek 06-07-2006 06:26 PM

You got PM.
Thx

I tested your Site, played 3 Games, two of them twice, everything well ...

check if you have any cookie-blocker or something like that

Sarthek 06-09-2006 01:32 PM

Thanks. I just tested it for 2 more days, and error is still there.

In mozzila there weren't any points-saving game, though there were in IE.

I don't have any blocker whatsoever, and some other users complained about it as well.

Not to mantion I made over 50.000 scores in pacman :/

Stifmeister2 06-09-2006 02:44 PM

It must be a user side problem. We also have this one guy who gets this error. Others don't.

jilly 07-10-2006 03:44 AM

I have some users having the same issue, also, not cheating and not multiple tabs. Only when you get the 'high' score. Games reported to do this so far are crazy coffers and snake, and yeti long shot two

MrZeropage 07-10-2006 06:46 AM

It is confirmed that the error comes up only when playing a Highscore ?

Hmmm, all cheat-protection ect. is done before the score is checked for anything, so this does not really make sense at all ...

Cookies are used, so make sure they are not blocked or anything like that

EricaJoy 07-13-2006 12:39 AM

My users are having the same problems. I'll give them the suggestions mentioned here and see if that clears things up.

kylek 07-15-2006 06:03 AM

Thats strange, one of my members has just been getting this problem of saving high score as mentioned in this thread, just started with her today. And she does check the remember me box always.

Neo_obs 07-15-2006 09:55 AM

just because remember me is clicked doesnt mean it takes affect. They must have cookies enabled or this wont work. So ask them if any of their security programs block cookies. Also some spyware block cookies also along with proxies.

MrZeropage 07-15-2006 02:28 PM

Yes, Cookies habe to be allowed !

jilly 07-15-2006 09:59 PM

but why would cookies make a difference only for "high score" submission? Wouldnt it be any score submission?

MoJo Smirnoff 07-27-2006 12:18 AM

was there any resolution to this issue, as I am getting this error too...but only on certain games. Some record high scores...some give you the error.
