I have phpnuke6.0 tweaked the way I like it & I just bought VB yesterday so I'm going to try get VB working with phpnuke 6.0. Is there a download for the phpnuke 6.0 + VB2.3 integration or do I have to hack w4u's hack that he released for nuke 5.5 at the beginning of this thread almost a year ago????? I know people have got it working with Nuke6.0 but I cant see any downloads or instructions for doing it.. Any replies at all would be appreciated. Thanks amp2000 |
I just decided to go with vB portal, it is capable of all the things php nuke can do. I just couldn't get anyone to help me adjust the hack for php nuke 6, and unfortunately I couldn't do it on my own.

I don't think I'm going to use PHPNuke 6. I was thinking of 6.5 but it's going to hell. If I'm going to do integration it will likely be with something more stable and has more promise in the future. pmachine is one (but it's very simple) but it is much better than phpnuke in all facets.
Sometimes you get what you pay for and I just don't think it's worth spending hours, days, weeks on nuke which is really going nowhere fast. It's too bad but FB seems to be in his own little development world, the Club, and everything else. I understand his need to make some money but this is a bad way to go about it and now 6.5 is about as buggy and confused as it gets.... and 6.0 did have a LOT of promise... oh well. I would go with vbportal. I've been using it and it is excellent. My needs though are for something a bit heavier although it will do everything Nuke could basically do and a heck of a lot more. |

Land Down Under contains a line of the license that is not appealing.
"Only limitation is that you may not distribute any modified core code without written consent from Neocrome." This means that if you write hacks to the system you cannot share them with anyone else or distribute/pass on along these changes to clients for packages you buy. It looks nice from the design but I have no idea what the back end is. The forums appear acceptable but I'll have to take a better look. Regardless, I don't think this is geared as a CMS as much as a Nuke copy. PHPPortals still seems to be the best bet. |
Yet another reason to move to PostNuke

I had a look at vbPortal & I cant really say I'm impressed, it's not bad though.
I need this working with phpnuke 6.0 so when a user logs into nuke they are also logged into the vBulletin forums & vice versa. I checked out ManagerJosh's site worldsims.org & he's done it, I registered & when I updated my profile in vb, it updated my profile in phpnuke & vice versa... If I can get manager josh to tell me how he done it I'll post instructions for doing it here. Cheers amp2000 |
thanks guys I am waiting a long time for this, so hopefully we can get it

is it work with last VB (2.3.0) and last PHP-Nuke (6.5)???
|
I got all of the users imported, and when I use a new test account, it works fine between both vb and the nuke.
However, if i try to log in with any of the old accounts, the nuke side doesn't recognize the user. I tried changing the user groups, but that didn't work. Any ideas? Thanks!! Edit: Using nuke 5.5 and Vb 2.3.0 |
