Understood. Might there be a way to force everyone to sell their equipment prior to switching to the new version? If not, I will ask folks to just start selling their equipment a week prior to the switch over.
Thanks for the replies, I'm very much looking forward to the add-ons! |
The only way I can see would be for the importer to just calculate how much the equipment would be worth in the itemshop prior to removing them, and adding that amount to the users' gold amounts respectively.
I'll probably end up contacting you when it's time to write the importer, since you're the one with the most interest in it and also having the most extensive v3 setup I know of XD |

And thanks Revan for starting back up on this. I look forward on seeing the new version. :) |
If that's much trouble to do, I'd say don't sweat it, I'll just send out a mass email to users letting them know to sell their goods by X date.
I'm really looking forward to v4! Quote:

Small update just to keep you guys in the loop:
I haven't been able to do much work on actual features for v4 this week, due to some heavy restructuring work being needed on my forum. What I spend my spare 10 minutes doing, however, is adding small "smarties" to the Guilds plugin. For instance: You'll be unable to delete, change the guild rank and change the guild affiliation of a character that's a Guild Master. If you could, then you end up with a guild without a Guild Master until you manually gave another character the Guild Master rank. Which could potentially be never. Another example: When you change the Guild Master via the Edit Guild functionality (you'll also be able to do it via a Guild Members page, to mass-change guild ranks), the GM you're demoting will be automatically assigned the second highest rank (of course, this is guesswork, but it's better than nowt) in the guild. If you wanted to demote the GM completely, you'd be better off doing it via the Guild Members page, as there you'll be able to select from a dropdown of all available Guild Ranks, as well as "Unguilded". Small things like that. Such things that aren't strictly needed, but just gives off a feeling of higher quality IMO. |

Which version are you using now, VB version and RPG version?? |
I am using 3.7.5, but am considering moving to 3.8.1 after I make sure all my mods will be ok at that version. As for RPG version, should be the latest 3.5.1 version plus patches posted in earlier posts (to my knowledge, those patches were required for it to work on newer versions).

I am unsure if this will affect your current work? :erm: |
Here's a small screenshot that should indicate how much effort is being put into just one of the modules for v4:
Click here. I'll post back with more details (and screenshots) once the module is complete. Currently it sits at approx. 40%; I've done all GM management except

Heck mang, my version of the RPG killed my forum...you should have seen it. You want to talk about extensive...the amount of work I did on it was pretty nuts. Everything from custom style design, to gazillions of armor and weapons as well as avatar work.
It's a shame that I had to uninstall it...the forum wouldn't work with it installed, and people were getting upset. I hope this new one does well, it was quite fun. Thanks! |
