Pretty sure ive had all the options set correctly under vb options in admincp, but nothing shows in IE, and in Firefox i get the plugin screen. It offers to find a plugin but finds nothing and doesnt install one....

Im sure its something simple...

Reupload the files, and make sure you ran the installer script.

First of all, I?ve translated the files to the Spanish, If you are interested in it just tell me and I will send it to you.

Something strange is hapennig to me. I have two domains, one is my primary domain and is the only domain I want to use, (this domain redirects people to my ..../forums/index.php) the second domain is and add-on domain and is pointed to a folder in my server that have another vbulletin installation (for test purposes and password protected).

The strange thing is that when I enter the chat using my primary domain and my normal vbulletin forum, I am redirected to this:

www.mysecondarydomain.com/forums/chat, every works but..... the style of the forum that is showed in the chat window is not my style, is another style that I have in my second vbulletin installation for test purposes. What a mess...

My primary domain point to this -> www.myprimarydomain -> and this is redirected to -> www.myprimarydomain/forums/index.php

My secondary domain (add-on) points to this -> www.mysecondarydomain/vbtest (and it is password protected)

When I go to the chat on my primarydomain the direcction that I get in the browser is -> www.mysecondaydomain/forums/chat

Hope you can help me because I don?t undestood it.

Note: I have installed the chat in both vbulletin installations

I don't see the problem, he hasn't redistributed it, he merely translated it to another language. I'm no lawyer though, but I am however in a lawsuit as we speak over IP (and I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night)....

Tried a reinstall and still have the same issue. You say this

That is where you will modify the settings, add/edit modules, and add/edit new pages.
at the end of your installation readme. All i have under the vbxirc settings in admincp/vBulletin Options is:

Allow Guests to enter?
IRC Server
Port Number
Room name
IRC Guest Name
Quit Message
Show Graphical Smilies

Nothing about adding modules, adding pages etc?

Those are the options...

Can you give me an example of the finalised settings, atm i have:

Allow Guests to enter: Yes
IRC Server: irc.dal.net
Port Number: 6667
Room name: #games
IRC Guest Name: guest_???
Quit Message: Good Bye
Show Graphical Smilies: No

Which is basically default.

Do i need to download and install the java applet from pjirc? The latest version is 2.0.4. I thought that was included in the /chat folder in the zip file...

Failing all this i can set you up with an admin account if you like Zach, just drop me a pm in these forums...i really need ya help.

Try a different network.. I believe dalnet blocks java clients... I know I couldnt connect via dalnet when I set mine up...

Try upgrading your java client and make sure your firewall allows port 6667

Mattius 10-07-2004 09:00 PM

YA! it worked :) anyone else having this problem, try and download the latest SUN java runtime...
