I am using IE and after every refresh on your page, it opens to the same place from right to left. When I click on one of your other menus, the click back on similar, it shifts a little to the right, but that is not a problem. hat's the way all oversize menus behave.

Yeah .. I see what you mean TWTCommish .. starts over on the left a bit .. then 2nd go it moves over to the right a bit .. and then 3rd go it ends up where I would of thought it should be ..

Weird .. :p

Slave 05-14-2005 07:13 PM

Ok .. in the end I needed to get ride of all the nowrap tags as well as the widths for each <td> .. seems to be fine now, and I'm not getting what TWTCommish is getting ..

One thing .. I notice that the Similar Threads drop down doesn't appear on all my threads .. I take it that if there aren't any Similar Threads is just doesn't bother showing the option?

Lionel 05-14-2005 07:17 PM

Yep, if there are no similars it will not show up (nothing to display).

Slave 05-14-2005 07:18 PM

Cool .. :)

heh .. Thought I was going mad for a second .. :p

I just looked at your site. It looks nice :-)

Slave 05-14-2005 07:25 PM

hmm .. this has got me thinking ..

I've got a couple of forums where I've got five or more sub forums which then get in the way of the main forum discussion, with people having to scroll down the page to get to the threads ..

Lionel .. could you look at doing something like this hack for sub forums? Perhaps have a drop down next to the search forum drop down?

What do you think?

Hey! .. thanks :)

I am not sure I understand you. You mean the subforums display first, then the threads after? If so that is how vb is built. I got around that problem by not allowing to post in the first forum, creating instead a subforum where all those threads that were supposed to go in original forum, are placed. This way when you open forum, all you see is subforums.

Looks like if you change the similarthreadbits templates alt1 and alt2 into vbmenu_option
the table opens properly on the right every time.
