Really, Let's see those stats Dean . There's been plenty of people who find the styles terrible. Posted on this forum will alert you to that so pulling that one out isn't what I call. A fact? Unless you know something I don't and to be fair, the styles are blinding to the eye. The red, green and purple styles are not easy on the eyes. Anyway, I'm not really fussed now, I'll just settle for the generic blue as I only posted because the style selector is easy accessible now and believe that we should be graced with styles easy on your eyes with colour usage taken in mind.

I created a custom style within a night, so it's not hard work to create appropriate gradients with the appropriate colour usage esp to a generic default style with no slicing required (bar the header area).

As for the new options, great stuff, It's the way forward (like I've stated) the styles make the efforts look bad imo. The trouble is, you settle for mediocre when you can have something far better with the resources at hand.

Like I said, There's room for improvements or atleast give the community one style that isn't blinding so they have one to select over the other dazzling styles.

As I keep saying on vBulletin.com to those who keep criticisng the plans for vB4, it's always the same people yapping as if they are the majority and they are representative of the large customer base. Yet, ironically there are thousands of other customers who are perfectly happy who have no reason to complain.

So... find me these hundreds of other people that don't like the styles shelley. Show me the other threads with people complaining. Prove you are the majority.

I don't post over at vbulletin.com. Dean. And look in threads yourself, I'm not your mother. There have been plenty of people saying they preferred the old blue custom style to the default styles that were designed by princeton. Though, I'm not suggesting we have a custom style, just re-coloured cleanups and matting mistakes rectified. You don't agree? well, that is your privelage.

Obviously, you know nothing about good colour usage and matting issues so I take anything you say with a pinch of salt and nothing else.

And, because customers are not saying anything doesn't mean they don't realize the difference between mediocrity and something outstanding. You are easily pleased, and don't notice the mistakes in incorrect matting issues though I'm sure of there were a coding mistake there would be people posting about it. Yes? or maybe we shall agree to disagree on that one? Maybe jelsoft should just stop developing and releasing patches.

I make suggestions for the better, you just don't appreciate my method, the same method which I was welcomed with the first time I made a suggestion.

How would you like me to put it, ooh nice style, how wonderfull the array of colours just flow off the tcat onto the thead. Visually beautifull... noooo When credit is due I'll give it but not for sloppy workmanship. You might accept it, I wouldn't. And i don't see why i should sugar coat my suggestions just because you feel differently about what should be done.

I'm not going to dignify you with any more responses, other than this one Shelley. You do nothing but complain here for the sake of it, and quite frankly I'm getting bored of it as I'm sure the staff are, and the other people who just want everyone to get along. You occasionally make constructive suggestions but then go and ruin it by making some arrogant or sarcastic comment either in response to other peoples responses, or in your initial suggestion.

Would you go up to an artist on the street if you could paint and say "you fail, and you fail miserably". I'd like to think you were a nice enough human being away from your keyboard to not be so rude in your criticism. What gives you the right to come on here and sit behind your keyboard and be so rude?

The ironic thing is, is that I even agree with your suggestion a little. The other styles are somewhat monotonous but they are usable, they are somewhat accessible and the content is displayed in a structured and easy to find manner. Had you made your suggestion in a more polite manner it may have even been taken on board.

My suggestion to you Shelley is, if you really give two damns about this community and want to improve it for the better, either be polite and try and get along like the majority of people here, or just leave.

I rather like the Red style

Im afraid its the same old story, any suggestions are lost in the digs and attacks. Another thread closed.
