Katie hunter why are you defending this person and their obviously illegal actions?
Makes me wonder if you have something to do with this? Are you helping to send out these emails? Are they paying you to come in here and try to do damage control? If you are then you have access to sensitive and very private user information. You and your friend here at VB should be put out on your collective asses.
If I get one then I know you have something to do with this. Better tell your friend not to send me any emails. It's easy enough to pick the header apart and see where they are coming from.
Then hand that to the Feds.

I'm not rude. I just say what every one else is thinking...

I hate stupidity, nonsense, and rumors.

Rumors started with Jacquii because she had nothing better to do other than rambling non sense, bored may be. My post below should stop these rumors from developing any further.

I am not defending anyone nor have anything to do with Marco. Marco was a good Vbseo staff who helped around, nothing more or less.

Lets just be very clear on one point here.
Marco1 is not the Marco who used to work at vBulletin (who btw, left three years ago).
Unless someone has verifiable links to another person that we are not aware of, no one at vB is involved in this project.

I didn't start any g-ddamn rumors. I asked a simple question to which you replied with a smartass, wittless & insulting comment, as if you know me. Indeed you don't know me and I have no clue who you think you are. I truly don't care to be perfectly honestly. I was curious as to the defensive tone your posts reeked of as concerns the spammer though... So I asked you. That's all.

Whatever the case may be. Please stop with your patronizing remarks when mentioning my name. It makes you look classless, offensive and quite honestly: absurd.

Thanks ;)

You're a drama queen and instead of reporting one of your post i liked it. You're one of those members who won't stop and will keep rambling and rambling for the sake of attention until you're ignored. If this is your aim, be my guess (:

You should go back to Xenforo if you hate VB that much and all i see is trolling lately.

Katie - I'm not at all sure why you are throwing such personal insults my way.
You SPECIFICALLY asked right here, "Can you share a copy of one of the 100's email you received?"

I then share a screencap of the email right here .... only to be called stupid by you, told that I am starting nonsense rumors by you and now that I'm a drama queen who is trolling ... you?..

YOU'RE. ON. DRUGS.
Please stop.

Now listen, the above "back and forth" between you two is enough, you're starting to make it personal when it should never be :erm: - agreed?

Odd, vBulletin gets hacked, now customers are getting a bunch of spam emails...

I had 4 email addresses in the databases that were hacked and haven't received any of the emails in this thread, but I also never had VBSEO.

I don't understand why it's odd. If the customer information had been stolen then it wouldn't be odd at all. But it wasn't, and in any case I never got any emails. It seems likely from what was said in this thread that the latest emails were sent using vbseo customer information.

it's from vbseo, everyone that is speaking out of context is jumping the gun assuming things. And not getting the facts straight.vbseo closed down and now someone has the database so you see where this is going...;)

Opps forgot, customer != forum member. Let me rephrase

Odd, since vBulletin's database was hacked and hundreds of thousands registered members email address were stolen and subsequently placed in to the hands of nefarious organization(s) spam emails can be expected.

BirdOPrey5 11-26-2013 04:46 PM

This thread and this case has nothing to do with the recent hack at vBulletin.

These 4 domains are hosted on the same server-
menaprof.com
vbfoster.com
vbrewrite.com
marcomamdouh.com

vbfoster is a mod on vBulletin.org here-
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=281347

If you go to their website and click the purchase link you get an error that the SSL certificate is registered to vbrewrite, not vbfoster.

So it looks like it is the same people as behind vbfoster.

Interestingly, the e-mail address my e-mail went too was the one I registered on VBSEO with.

Totally agree, which is why I reported a post before it could get further out of hand.
Thanks for your intercession.

I agree with both of these statements.... I think.

I say "I think" because my registered email here, on vB.com and at vBSEO are the same. I didn't go through each and every one of the emails, so I can't swear with 100% certainty. But I have 3 registered email addresses in the vBulletin system.

The emails I received and took note of were sent to the email addresses shared by vBSEO and vBulletin. I did not notice this spam sent to any of the additional email accounts registered in the vBulletin system.

Because of this - I think I can conclude that vBulletin had nothing to do with the vBRewrite spam spree.

It's just odd though. If a company wanted to make a touchdown type of impression on possible paying customers - 100s of spam emails is NOT the way to do it. I think they've shot themselves in the foot before the ball was even hiked.

Not to mention the fact that they're targeting vB 5 Connect license holders...all 4 of them :p A more successful business model would have most definitely included vB 4.x and vB 3.x customers as well.

Don't call me stupid - but I'm not sure I understand what you're saying :o
The code you posted above is how legitimate email from vBulletin will look?

lol i will never call anyone stupid:o but that is information i pull from my email client to determine rather it's legit email or spam email, so that way i can take appropriate steps to filter my emails.By the way i pulled that from my gmail account.:)

addition: the general info is a good email from vbulletin.

Either you didnt even bother to read the thread or you are just trolling, I can guess which myself.
The sender was an ex vbseo staff member who pretty clearly appears to have sent it to the vbseo userlist.

Ridiculous. I never received any emails and guess what, I never registered on vBSeo. This has got nothing to do with vBulletin getting hacked.

I think links within this thread going to vbrewrite should be removed.. it's just giving them link juice for google, which is probably what they want.

True. It reminds me of people on forums talking about how much they hate a competing forum, and they keep adding links to the other forum's threads to give examples of why they hate it so much! Duh... Google doesn't know it's a "hate link", lol.

Lizard King 11-28-2013 08:48 AM

Lets make one thing real as possible. At the time i was working with vBSEO Marco never had access to customer list. The only access he had was to support area as a support team member. Only developers had access and vBSEO always valued their customer information. vBSEO never let anyone reach their customer database.

After i left vBSEO i have been in contact with vBSEO staff all the time and i tried to assist them as much as i can. On that period Marco again never had access to vBSEO customer base. The only information he could assist is with Licensed URL change to Arabic Customers.

So please stop assuming Marco send the e-mails through vBSEO database. It is same as always for vBulletin lately. Always try to point other people for ongoing issues.

I have no information where Marco gathered the e-mail list though what he did seems ultimate rubbish.

cellarius 11-29-2013 01:35 PM

Got that mail, too - about 75 of them. All directed to the mail-adress I used for vBSEO (and only vBSEO).

Zachariah 12-02-2013 01:46 AM

All I got was a "Black Friday" 25$ off - to upgrade to vBulletin 5 Connect.
- nothing from VBSEO
