I found what's causing the bug, when this mod is enabled https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=245240 the box will not float.

We will make a note of that so others can avoid having that problem, as that mod must have some style issue in it to explain the odd behaviour being observed.

We will take a look at that and get that fixed, looks like we just missed a space when we setup all the phrases.

installed on 4.1.0 PL2 and does not show on FF or IE, disabled hooks then re enable, still no dice. re upped files and re installed xml's and still does not show up. Fixed usergroups so Admins can use it. suggestions please? thanks

When you disabled hooks did you disabled all the hooks but the chat ones? As that is the only way to see if another mod is stepping on the chat. As there hasn't been a change I can think of in vbulletin that would have created that issue.

When my connection timesout i'm getting Error: please reload error, i think that this box should keep reloading it self till it catches the connection again, what you think? :)

You have to turn the setting on for each usergroup in the usergroup editor.

Yes, I included that hook after disabling them. Nothing is being displayed on bottom. everything is right, been doing Vb for 10 years, since version 1.x I see others having issues as well, I'm gonna sit tight a few days and see what you come up with.

Update: INstalled on another forum, same version of Vb. "Will work if I DISABLE VSA CHATBOX" Can we move some stuff so they don't interfere?? I know he was there 1st but a brief look will be appreciated. Also, freinds online it shows there avatar and it's huge at the bottom of the page. Also, the main forumhome doesn't give any graphical interface, just the words Thank You

We intend to release a vb3 version once we get more of the core features into the vb4 version.

Where exactly does it say sending request at?
Is the bar itself showing up at all?
Does anything on the bar work if it is showing up?

I'm not sure why it wouldn't show on the first board you installed it on. If I had to guess I would say that another modification on it was conflicting.

As for the conflicts with VSA Chatbox on the second board, we can look into that for another version; however, remember this modification will also have chatboxs within it soon enough, so not entirely sure anyone would really use both at that point.

Lastly, for the large avatars, I would say that something was overwriting our css for the avatars, and I will see about changing the css some to help keep that from happening in future releases.

I have looked into your issue, and found the problem, but I'm not entirely sure why it is happening.

I have also tested it on other sites, and it works fine. So I believe that one of the other modifications you are running might have JavaScript that is conflicting with ours.

One way to find out which modification of yours it is that is breaking it, if it is one, would be to turn them each product off one at a time until you see the chat work, then turn all of them back on but that one and ensure that the chat still works.

If you want, I can look for the specific modification that is breaking it later (most likely tomorrow).

i justt turned off all plugins and still nothing! i do have a notification thing the WSF one? That uses ajax, that is the only thing that is left

Right now moving it will cause an issue, but we are working on a new version, and we are planning to add the option to change where that link displays, as well as if that link should display.

Currently the chat will only support characters that your board itself will support. So if you would like your board to support certain characters, your board will have to be using a charset that supports those characters too.

We are currently in the process of finding a way to support them without the board's charset supporting them, and if anyone knows a way to do that, please feel free to contact us about it.

I assume you mean the color of the messages and/or the color of the text on the tabs?

If so, I just added two new style vars this morning for that very problem. So when we release the new version in a few days, you can just change the stylevar, but until then, you can always edit the css manually to take care of that.

Let me guess, you got these emails in a time frame right after you uninstalled the mod, correct?

That would be because the table gets deleted when the mod is uninstalled, but the user's JavaScript will still be running until they next refresh.

If you have VSA Chatbox or similiar, give a shot and disable that...
Same issue here, there's a definite forumhome issue somewhere, all other pages work fine on one forum.
I'm glad it just ain't me.

Suddenly the old closed boxes of chat with friends all popped up as new to me.

Also if you have 2 pages in the forum open and you closed the chat in one of them the other will keep it and when you reload the box will revert back.

How many members does your site average online at a time? What is your mysql max connections set at? Also what kind of hosting is your site on?

You can update the sleep setting from 1 second to 2, and the stream will use half the resources of before but this won't lower the connection count from the script. Most likely you just need to raise your mysql max connections as it sounds like its set to low. The extra connections generated from this script will basically sit idle till the sleep timer expires then they run 1 query to check for updates. So the extra connections from the script should basically sit idle 90-95% of the time depending on query response time.

I think this mod has problems with caching systems like memcache or XCache

I can state for a fact that it does not have an issue with memcache, xcache shouldn't be able to create a problem either but I dont have it installed on my server to verify (but all it is is an opcode cache).

I had to disable, will wait for update. I went right for the paid version of microcart when that was released, and the bugs and spelling errors drove me nuts, to the point where I had to disable and wait till I had time to fix myself. I will wait till you get reasonably consistent results before I pick on my forum, which is totally custom and works perfectly otherwise, and the other one, which has had same results with minimal hacks installed. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the hard work IWT, Good Luck, Mike.

We have already fixed all the spelling errors in the package we hope to be releasing tomorrow. As for the forumhome issue that is not a problem with our mod but with another mod that's not making proper use of the variables and flushing the data (typically it keeps being mods overwriting the variable used to include the css), you can see for yourself by turning off your products one at a time till the chat bar shows up.

my site with minimal mods has them all off, and it works as stated. PERFECTLY, except for forumhome. I am not the only one with this issue, and all plugins are off but for this one. I also tested this on DEFAULT skin, so it's not a skin conflict

With what version of vbulletin as every version we have tested has worked perfectly? As the variable used to add the css is the same for that page as the other pages, so logically it should work on forumhome unless something is overwriting the variable, maybe this is related to only a specific version of vBulletin.
