Hi this looks like a great mod. I just had a quick question, do these internal links only appear on the moderators/admin post or every post by every user?

Holy crap this is awesome, installed and voted!

oddmud 03-05-2010 04:11 PM

Anyway to make this go back and check key works and change them? Instead of just adding to new keywords?

oddmud 03-05-2010 04:28 PM

You need to clean up how it tags your slogan in the footer. Take a look at my site at the bottom. There's no space between the previous bit and yours, and maybe they should have <br>'s in there or something.

do I have to add 1 keywrod each time? or can I easily add a bunch of keywords somehow at once?
I did try with space between keywords, and "," between, but nothing worked.
ps: you have any idea how I can change the color of the links in vbulletin ? since I dont want to use default

benjaminlwells 03-05-2010 06:09 PM

I'm quite interested in the possibility of this. I have a fairly large Wiki integrated into my VB, and would like use auto linker to connect many words to wiki entries. My concern is server load. If I enable a lot of these, how will this effect load time? Will I have to worry about this jacking up my 'max_user_connections' or 'max_questions' resources on my database?

MichelangeloITA 03-05-2010 06:19 PM

Works great! 5 stars! You rock man :D

KissOfDeath 03-06-2010 05:34 AM

Not sure what you change in the new version, but it slows the hell out of my forum, big thread wont load at all and i was gettin constant "SQL server gone away" messages, and no matter how much i increased the wait_timeout value it wouldn't go away

It actually crashed my server (And i'm not on cheap hosting, i have a VPS to my self with only 1 domain hosted on it) when i tried to backup my database while it was installed, i had to get them to do a manual rebbot and they said that ctrl alt delete wouldn't even work they have to power it off to reboot it

so both of these posts are basically about the same thing, so I thought I would answer them in one go.

At the moment, this plugin doesnt really have a huge amount of consideration for overheads or board size (bad of me I know, but Im on cloud hosting at rackspace and that can take a HUGE load, and my board is still tiny by comparison to many).

ALSO - this plugin was really built for my use, but Im releasing it here on vb.org for others to use as well (in exchange for links or donations of course!).

BUT - thats not to say that I wont take this stuff into consideration, its just I hadnt thought about it much pre-launch.

I will have a think about how it can be improved over the next few days and come up with a newer version mid next week. Any additional feedback you can give me in the meantime is highly valued, it all helps me to improve the product for me and for you!

thanks

at the moment its one by one, I could arrange an import from csv though... I need to sort out any potential performance issues and other bugs first, but I will include that in the next week or two.

thanks

Sorry, A bit off topic, But im curious about cloud hosting, How does this work with VB? is it easy to integrate? I've got a amazon S3 account but it looks complicated to set up, so if Rackspace is easier i'll get an account there..

no problems - Ive looked at S3 as well, but have found rackspacecloud far, far easier to get to grips with.

Its not only an excellent dependable platform, but it handles spikes with total ease. I had a massive traffic spike about a year ago on a site that host there, and received 120,000 visits in the space of 3 hours to a wordpress site, and it handled it with no slowdown whatsoever.

Its not cheap (I think it starts at $150 per month these days, although Im grandfathered in on the old $100 per month rate) - BUT ITS TOTALLY WORTH IT.

In the last 10 years Ive used probably 25+ hosts, and this one is hands down the best.

EDIT: In response to your question on integration, yes, its super easy, the php hosting is dead straightforward, and the only modification to the db handling is an unusual hostname rather than "localhost". They will give you a free trial month to get to grips with it, give it a shot, you will be impressed, I GUARANTEE...

neither have I, but then my board while traffic heavy has a small database. My old board used to get a few thousand posts per day and was on a smaller VPS, back then resources were a big issue for me, but alas, not right now.

1. In the demo thread on your forum, the auto-links don't seem to be working, at least not in IE8.

2. What is the difference between this version and the Gold Version?

2. What is the difference between this version and the Gold Version?

the GOLD versions of all my plugins are now available at:
http://seoforums.org/seo-plugins/

Whats the difference between the gold ones, and the free ones here on vb.org?

1) they are branding free
2) fully supported in a private members area at seoforums.org
3) all new feature development is exclusively for the paid versions, the free versions will now get bug fixes, unless something is deemed absolutely necessary.
4) personalised seo advice from me, if you want it that is!

Best regards

MOGmartin

MOGmartin 03-10-2010 07:23 PM

Installed, working fine.

I'm still REALLY new at this kind of thing, but it seems to work for the one link I made. Any advice someone may have for links to create would be welcome, though.

So far, I just did one to change "amazon" to a link to our affiliate coded url. I guess that's correct?

abqtj 03-12-2010 01:30 AM

Oh, one other question. What was the second zip file within the initial package for? I didn't load anything from that.

LifesGreatestGift 04-11-2010 01:01 PM

Yeah. Uninstalled due to the [replacer_a] issue.

Hope this gets fixed. Great idea/mod.
