Yeah in all cases I have seen, the buyer got their money back, unless the seller could prove the buyer was in error.

I highly doubt that (both - you reading it from a source that counts, and it happening).

TBH, I doubt they will ever add it. And if they do, it will be years before it is like it is now. They just cant go in and add 2000+ hooks and expect everything to work.

So, vB5 is death now and in future?
I read that the plugin-system is not good and thats the reason that there been so less plugins for vB5.
If they don't work at the plugin-system there will be never more plugins than now?
I read a lot stuff about and think the most of it here in vbulletin.org

Hopefully sometime the system is more stable and more plugins will be released...

I post a paidrequest and hope a reliable coder can do it...

Thanks for your help...

In my opinion: Yes. It was dead on arrival.

There is no plugin system in vB5.

Maybe not the death, but it is really slow to grow. With it's limitations, it is kinda like planting a tree in a flower pot, it will only grow so big, as the roots have no place to go.

There is no hook/plugin system like there is in vB3 / vB4, so that is a big reason developers do not want to work with the system.

IMO, that would be a correct assumption.

One can only hope, but I know it is not in the foreseeable future for the plugin/hook system to be added back.

Sometimes I wonder what people think how long vB5 will be the current version. We're now 2 years into the product. I give vB5 another year max, then something labeled as vB6 will be released. IB needs to generate inbcome. Anyway, that won't change much - they won't create a now code base (once again), and the question is why we should assume that the outcome would be significantly superior to vB5.

ozzy47 01-02-2015 09:53 PM

Well lets see. vB4 was released in December of 2009 and vB5 was released in September 2012, three months short of three years.

So if the same pattern is followed, in June of this year we should see the newest version. :p

I doubt that though. As the state of vB5 is no where where it should be, and you also have to factor in the cloud, which is running vB5.

I have to believe vB5 has not got no where the sales that were projected for the project, so I doubt they will dump more money into hiring people to start on something new.

No, they won't start something new. vB6 will be vB5 with some lipstick on.

The current vB5 without bugs, and not completely and utterly broken for modding would actually be a decent piece of software. Sadly IB have probably burned way too much of their customer (and developer) base to ever recover their market share in future.
